Maria Puertas Torres

Passionate and committed dog educator.

Since I have memories, the canine world has been captivating me. So my career has focused on helping every little animal that came my way.

I started rescuing lost or abandoned dogs, a difficult but rewarding task. Then I began my training after seeing personally the lack of professionals with effective and humane educational methods for dogs. It was an impulse to start looking for alternatives and attend seminars where learn about canine behavior.

In 2016 I started working at Amic Gos, whose environment allowed and encouraged me to formalize my training as a dog educator, obtaining certifications in behavioral modification, professional dog trainer and applied neuroscience.

From here, I have continued to expand my knowledge and I have been changing my way of helping dogs with emotional difficulties, interacting and practicing with hundreds of them in order to improve their lives and building my own educational approach based on empathy.

In January 2024, I took over the role of manager of the Amic Gos Residence, a project that represents my dedication and enthusiasm. Here, I dedicate my time, effort and affection to forming a united team where each member brings their special qualities.

Daniel Garcia Luque

Born adventurer and fervent animal enthusiast.

Disciplined, active, patient, flexible and with a deep desire to learn and meet my goals. I am a dog caretaker attracted since small by the animal field, especially for the welfare of dogs. My connection with them goes beyond the superficial; it is a genuine respect for their nature and behavior.

Therefore, I work by observing and analyzing their behaviors and emotions to generate a bond that allows us to fulfill their activities satisfactorily and build a temporary home for them.

My purpose is to continue learning and contributing to the well-being of our four-legged residents in this beneficial environment.

Désirée Abarca Revert

Unconditional lover of nature and passionate about the canine world.

Simple but methodical. I am a dog guide with relatively strict criteria and always looking for the benefit of all parties involved, creating an environment where dogs can develop as individuals and fully enjoy daily activities.

After studying several courses in psychology and dog training, I was certified as an educator, specializing in behavioral modification, in 2018.

Three years later I founded NAMI, the first association in Andorra dedicated exclusively to the protection of dogs.

Currently, I have 9 years of experience in the dog world, worked in 2 residences, the kennel of Andorra and a veterinary clinic.

My goal with this project is to show that behind an aggressive dog, there is a vulnerable dog, who suffers and needs help. And that the thing is not to give orders, impose rules, or punish or reward behaviors… it’s about many other things!
